Client Managed Installation
Symantec Endpoint Managed Installation
- Make sure that eTrust is not installed.
- If you find the Blue Heart Beat icon in the systray:
- manually uninstall CA eTrust from the Control Panel | Add Remove Programs
- If you find the Green Heart Beat icon in the systray:
- Click on Start
- Click on Run
- Type in the name of the Symantec Server (\\anti-v or \\sym-srv)
- This should open a windows with a folder in it called symantec.files
- Open symantec.files
- Run UNINSTALL-CA
- This will open a Black and White windows
- This should complete with the Green Heart Beat icon gone
- And the Black and White window saying "Press Any Key to Continue"
- In the same symantec.files folder:
- Run the Sep_SupportTool icon
- Accept the EULA
- Tick Pre-Installation Check
- Tick SEP Client
- Click on Next
- You may have to run this command
- Click on start
- Type in CMD
- type this command:
- netsh firewall add portopening tcp 445 endpoint
- You may need to set a password for the Administrator user
- Click on Start
- Right click My Computer
- Click on Manage
- Go to Local Users and Groups
- Go to Users
- Right Click Administrator
- Click on Set Password
- Click on Proceed
- Set the standard Administrator password
- Click on Okay
- It should say "The password has been set" Click on ok
- Close Computer Management
- In the same symantec.files folder:
- open the My Company_Default Group folder
- Run setup.exe
- You will not have to do anything
- once the installation is completed there should be a yellow shield in the Systray.
