Setup a Bootable USB

For Centos, find a mirror close to you. https://www.centos.org/download/mirrors/

• Download the ISO you want.
• Download and install the latest version of https://rufus.akeo.ie/

• Install the iso to a clean USB Drive. ALL DATA WILL BE LOST.

You are now ready to install Centos on a system.

Remote Setup

HatTip ClouldWorks TecMint

This process will allow you to install Centos to your target server without being in the same room or even in the same country.

You will need this program to Tabbed VNC Viewer

Download and install the MINIMAL ISO to a USB drive using https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Now boot the server using this USB, and you will come to here.

At this point, we need to press TAB.

This will stop the installation and allow you to type in some extra commands for the boot up.

This first command I have used and works.

inst.gpt inst.vnc inst.vncpassword=password resolution=1366x768

You only want to use inst.gpt if the hard drives you are working with are over 2TB.

You only want to use inst.gpt if are deling with UEFI systems.

You may have to do a couple attempts at an install before you hit the sweet spot.

I would like to place a command like this inside the USB Drive.

inst.vnc inst.vncpassword=Password inst.headless ip=192.168.1.250::192.168.1.1:255.255.255.0:demo.domain.local:enp3s4f0:none nameserver=192.168.1.1
